About Holy Names Academy

Holy Names Academy is an all-girls Catholic high school founded in 1880 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. The school offers excellent academic, arts, athletic, spiritual, and leadership programs that promote the development of the whole person in an environment of inclusion, collaboration, and community.

Dive Coach

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Demonstrated knowledge, dedication, experience, and ability to teach diving skills and conditioning programs.
Supervision and instruction of swim and dive athletes during all team activities.
Effective communication with student athletes and their families.
Ability to work collaboratively with coaches in the HNA swim and dive program.
Take direction from the Program Head and Athletic Director as needed.
Seeking continuing education opportunities in your sport (clinics, attending college practices, working camps, etc.).
Maintain compliance with all Holy Names Academy, Metro League, and Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) rules and regulations.

Requirements and Qualifications

Experience and expertise in the sport.
Prior coaching experience at the high school, youth, or club level.
25 years of age or older.
Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License.
Available for morning practice sessions (Monday - Thursday - 5:30 - 7am) and Friday afternoon meets.
Current First Aid/CPR and Lifeguard certifications (or be willing to obtain certification prior to season).
Must be willing and able to drive a 14-passenger minibus (training provided).
Successful completion of a criminal background check, fingerprints and Safe Environment training prior to start of season.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: $3000 - 3500, paid over the season. Salary is based on skills and experience.

Assistant Crew Coach

ASSISTANT CREW COACH

Position Overview:
Holy Names Academy is seeking a part-time, year-round assistant crew coach. The Holy Names Academy Crew team was founded in 1993 and continues to be an integral part of the school’s strong and successful athletic program, competing in nationally attended regattas such as Head of the Charles and Youth Nationals. The team currently maintains a roster of 50 - 70 rowers and trains out of the Lake Washington Rowing Club boathouse. Practices are held Monday-Friday (3:15 - 6:15pm) from late-August through mid-May with weekend regattas in the fall and spring. Post-season and summer camp coaching opportunities are available.

General Tasks & Responsibilities:

Provide safe, high quality instruction in rowing and related cross-training activities for student-athletes.
Coordinate with the Head Coach to implement seasonal training plans.
Collaborate with fellow coaches to foster a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented learning environment.
Provide onsite support as needed at regattas.
Build professional relationships with parents and families.
Assist the Head Coach with recruiting and athlete retention efforts.
Support student athletes in their academics and personal development.
Assist the Head Coach with equipment fleet maintenance and management, where relevant.
Serve as an enthusiastic and engaged representative of the HNA Crew program.
Ensure compliance with school policies and safety standards.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Experience and expertise in the sport - One or more years of rowing coaching experience, preferably at the high school or college level.
History of competitive sweep rowing at the high school or collegiate level.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Current First Aid and CPR certifications (or be willing to obtain certification prior to season).
Washington Boater’s Education certification and ability to drive and operate motorized coaching launch.
25 years of age or older (to drive HNA vehicles)
Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License.
Must be willing and able to drive a 14-passenger minibus (training provided).
Successful completion of a criminal background check, fingerprints and Safe Environment training prior to start of season.
Compliance with all Holy Names Academy, Lake Washington Rowing Club, and USRowing policies and procedures.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range by season, assuming 5 days/week, commensurate with experience.
- Fall 2026 Season: $4,300 - $4,500, paid over the season.
- Winter 2026-2027 Season: $3,400 - $3,900, paid over the season.
- Spring 2027 Season: $6,700 - $7,200, paid over the season.

Head Golf Coach

HEAD GOLF COACH

Job Description:
Holy Names Academy is hiring a part-time Head Varsity Golf Coach. This position, under the direction of the Athletic Director, is responsible for leading and developing the golf program at Holy Names Academy. The Metro League Golf season is a split season with regular season running August 24 – October 16, 2026, and post season training resuming in April 2027 and concluding with the State Championship on May 19, 2027.

Supervision and instruction of golf student-athletes during all team activities.
Effective communication with student-athletes, parents, and school administration.

Represent Holy Names Academy, the athletic department, and the golf program at a variety of on and off-campus marketing and networking events.

The spring lacrosse season runs late February – mid-May. Practices are typically held Monday – Friday (3-5pm).

Assistant Robotics Coach

ASSISTANT ROBOTICS COACH

Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Robotics Coach to join the Holy Names Academy, Reign Robotics Team. This is an exciting opportunity to mentor young women in STEM, build a strong robotics program, and gain hands-on experience in coaching, project management, and team leadership. The Assistant Robotics Coach will work closely with the Head Robotics Coach, learning the ins and outs of leading a competitive robotics team. The goal of this position is to develop the skills necessary to take on the Head Coach role in the future.

General Tasks & Responsibilities:

Robot Building Support: Assist with the hands-on building and programming of the team's robot during both the off-season and build/competition seasons.
Business Team Collaboration: Work with the student business team to ensure that marketing efforts align with the needs of the robotics team and the mission of the school.
Mentorship & Development: Learn and collaborate closely with the Head Coach to understand the responsibilities involved in leading a robotics team, with the intent to take over leadership in the coming years.
Student Registration & Permission Slips: Oversee and manage student registration for the team, including ensuring that all permission slips are completed for events.
Team Apparel: Coordinate the ordering and distribution of team shirts and other apparel, ensuring that the team presents itself cohesively at events.
Outreach Event Arrangements: Help organize and manage outreach events aimed at promoting the team and encouraging interest in robotics within the school and broader community.

Time Commitment:

Off-Season (September - December):

Frequency: One or two days per week.
Hours: Typically 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM (specific days to be discussed with the Head Coach).

Build/Competition Season (January - March, possibly Mid-April depending on qualification for districts):

Frequency: Monday-Friday.
Hours: Typically 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Note: Holidays are excluded, but there may be additional time requirements for certain activities and events.

Event/Competition Weekends:

The team will participate in two competition weekends in March, with additional outreach events in the fall (usually October). Availability for these weekends is required.

Compensation:

$3,000 - $5,000
