Six girls in costume for the musical SIX

WHERE TALENT RISES

At Holy Names Academy, the Theatre and Film Department is a place where students are empowered to express themselves, take creative risks, and shine. Through opportunities in acting, singing, dancing, and stage crew, students develop confidence, collaboration skills, and the courage to share their unique talents while forming meaningful relationships and creating experiences they will carry with them beyond HNA.

Our Theatre & Film Department puts on three productions every year: the Fall Play, Spring Musical, and New Works Festival, a collection of student-written and directed 10-minute plays and short films. Participation for all productions is accomplished through an auditions and casting process. Many opportunities to work behind the scenes in costume design, hair and makeup, marketing, lighting and sound design, and theatre tech, are also available.

Holy Names Academy is an active member of the International Thespian Society.
