Where Expression Rises

The Visual Arts program at Holy Names Academy offers a diverse range of courses designed to cultivate artistic skills and appreciation. Students can choose from Advanced Placement (AP) courses like:

• AP Art History, which covers global artistic traditions, and
• AP Studio Art, where students create portfolios in areas such as painting, drawing, and design.

Other courses include:

• Art 2-D: Drawing and Painting, which integrates traditional techniques with digital media
• Digital Photography, focusing on camera functions and image manipulation
• Graphic Design, teaching commercial art skills using Adobe Photoshop
• Pottery, which provides hands-on experience with clay and glazes
• Multicultural Folk Arts, focusing on the different folk regions, ethnicities, and cultures of the U.S. and the world
• Yearbook Design, which produces the Holy Names Academy yearbook, Excalibur.

Each of these courses aim to develop both technical skills and creative expression in students.
