2023 Alumnae Luncheon and Distinguished Alumna Award Holy Names Academy

Alumnae enjoyed gathering for HNA’s annual Alumnae Luncheon on March 4 at The Golf Club at Newcastle. Always inspiring, this year’s event saw the largest to-date attendance with 275 alumnae celebrating friendships and HNA connections.

Each year, an event highlight is the presentation of the Distinguished Alumna Award, which recognizes an outstanding alum who is living out HNA’s mission. This year, the Alumnae Board honored Liz Eldredge Swift ’71 with the 2023 Distinguished Alumna Award. Liz, who has worked at the Academy for an exceptional 48 years, embodies the school’s mission and the Charism of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Her receipt of this award accentuated the event theme “Legacy of Leadership.”

Effective July 2023, Liz Swift will retire from her position as Head of School and Principal of Holy Names Academy. Kim Dawson, the Academy’s current Vice Principal of Student Life, will become HNA’s next Head of School and Principal.
