HNA & Social Justice

History of HNA and Social Justice here

What is a Social Justice Committee?

Each year, students discuss the myriad of social justice issues facing our society, and choose one that they would like to address in their grade-level committee. Using design thinking, they brainstorm possible solutions and then implement projects that will help address this issue in their local community. Topics have included homelessness, racial justice, women’s rights, environmental justice and human trafficking.

Nationally Recognized Social Justice Program

HNA's Social Justice Committees (SJC) have been nationally-recognized for three consecutive years by Design for Change.

SJC Leaders Head to Rome

SJC member students were invited to Rome for an international summit with 4000 youth activists from 40 different countries. HNA students will present their project at the i can. children's global summit, hear and meet student presenters from all around the world, and will have an audience with Pope Francis.
